Our staff are role models, leaders, and friends. We provide orientation training; including child development, waterfront
safety, first aid/CPR, and effective communication skills.
A number of our staff were former campers and continue to nurture our campers and teach traditions; such as songs, cheers,
games, and rituals.
Each year we invite two Israeli counselors to join our staff. The campers learn about Israeli culture and are exposed to a
diverse staff.
CITs, Counselors in training assist our staff with group participation, activities, and lesson planning. These young leaders
develop skills and learn tools to become future counselors.

Eli has been Assistant Director at Center Day Camp since the summer of 2007. Working at CDC represents a return to camp for
Eli, as he was a camper from 1979 - 84, and a counselor for two years in the early 1990's. Eli brings a passion for camp, the
community, and tradition to everything he does at camp. As the Assistant Director, Eli's responsibilities range from creating
the master schedule to supporting the staff or even helping with a maintenance project on the property. Don't be surprised if
you find Eli helping with a swim lesson or pitching batting practice for a group of campers.
During the school year, Eli teaches Social Studies at Deering High School in Portland, ME. Eli lives in Portland with his wife
Katie and their three CDC campers; Isaac, Calvin, and Naomi.

Center Day camp has been a part of Amy's life for almost 20 years! Amy started as a camper and continued on for 15 years
becoming a CIT, Junior Counselor, and Counselor. As part of the administrative team, Amy is excited to be back to her favorite
place, CDC. Amy enjoys watching the campers come off the bus with their wide smiles and enthusiasm for a day filled with adventure.
Camping is truly a gift.
Amy grew up in Portland and spent 10 years in the Boston area before coming back to Maine with her own family of 4. Daughters, Abbie
and Hannah are campers at Center Day Camp and share the same excitement for camp that Amy has had for so many years. The Brier
Family is counting down for summer!

Marnie is excited to stay involved this summer with the CDC community. Marnie is working with the Center Day's Alumni
Association in creating an epic event, 2012 reunion weekend, July 14-15, 2012! This event is open to past, present, and
future campers. For more information check out our alumni page
