About Us


  • Chris has proudly served as the Director of Center Day Camp since 2020 and is excited to return for his 7th summer on the beautiful Sebago Basin. Throughout his tenure, Chris has focused on enriching the camper and counselor experience by introducing session-based registration, improving facilities, and expanding program offerings. Under his leadership, CDC has achieved a camper retention rate of over 90%, a testament to the dedication of the staff and the camp’s commitment to providing southern Maine families with a classic summer camp experience.

    Chris lives in Portland with his wife Amanda and their dog Pemi. Outside of camp, he enjoys hiking, skiing, relaxing on the beach, and making the most of everything Maine has to offer.

  • Marlena grew up in the Portland area and graduated from Skidmore College in 2016 with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology. Prior to joining the JCA, she spent several years as a classroom teacher at Ocean Avenue School in Portland and has been a part of Center Day Camp for many summers, serving in a variety of roles.

    As the Youth Programming Coordinator at the JCA, Marlena oversees the afterschool program and helps connect families year-round through PJ Library. She is thrilled to continue spending her summers at Center Day Camp, now serving as Assistant Director, where she brings her passion for youth development and community building to life.

Our Credentials

Center Day Camp is accredited through the American Camp Association. We are members of Maine Summer Camps, JCC Camps, and Maine Camp Experience.

Our Waterfront Director is a certified Red Cross lifeguard instructor and trains our staff on site. The Center Day Camp healthcare manager is a registered nurse.
